We are a strong family business, owned and operated by the Lane family, and proudly Australian.

The Lane journey in print communications began in 1971 with the purchase of a small printing company, DG & B Paul, and the establishment of Lane Bros. Printers. This was the beginning of a consistent culture of continual improvement, innovation and steady growth.

Employing over 70 staff nationally, our head office and main production facilities operate out of South Australia, with our highly experienced sales team managing key accounts across the country.

From our modest beginnings in 1971, we have remained at the forefront of technology, providing our customers with effective visual communications, over both print and digital channels. During our founding years, we acquired one of the largest commercial printing businesses in South Australia. Shortly after, we purchased the major digital printing and mailing company in the Australian Capital Territory. We are now one of the most substantial privately-owned printing, mailing and digital communications companies in Australia.

Our core objectives are simple: by providing consistent quality and innovation in visual communications, we aim to be an integral influence in the prosperity, positive promotion and professional presentation of our customers.

Our story so far is just the beginning.

1971

1978

Lane Bros. Printers wins the contract for producing Race Books with the revolutionised system for receiving, processing and setting the horse-racing data prior to the form guides’ subsequent printing and distribution.

(The development of this new software and production process was specifically tailored to the requirements of the racing industry; the South Australian Jockey Club remains a valued Lane client.)

1985

Lane Bros. Printers acquires R.M. Osborne Printers, one of the largest commercial printing companies in the South Australia.

1988

Lane Bros. Printers purchases two laser digital printers from a subsidiary of The Advertiser, Computer Graphics Corporation. A sister company, Lane Laser Printers, is established.

1992

Further growth and expansion necessitates the purchase of a new production facility in Camden Park, encompassing 8,000 square metres.

In order to offer multichannel communication solutions, the Lane group develops its innovative software for the management of electronic communications and digital information. The Ezy Suite is born – Lane EzyBill, Lane EzyPrint and Lane EzyVote.

The Lane group purchases the largest digital printing and mailing company in the Australian Capital Territory, the Practical Group; Lane Laser Canberra is established.

2001 - 2015

Lane continues to expand, upgrading machinery and technology to remain at the forefront of printing, mailing and digital communications. The group is rebranded under one trading name, Lane Print & Post.

2016

Expanding into wide format production, Lane Print & Post establishes a signage/display material boutique packaging division, installing two flatbed UV-cured machines, large format plotters, a high-end pro-cut router and a large format laminator.

Lane Print & Post rebrands as Lane Communications, encapsulating the full service offering of print and digital communication solutions.

2023

With two of the Lane brothers retiring, Managing Director Peter Lane and his son Simon Lane acquire Lane Communications and its group of companies. As Co-Directors and owners, this succession cements the business as proudly Australian owned and privately operated within the Lane Family.
